I am interested in learning the first names of the Genereux family listed in the surname indices of the mixef-blood censuses. The only information I have is from the treaty with the Chippewas at St. Peters, Territory of Michigan, dated 29 July 1837.

marsha: here is the link to the 1836 Census of Ottawa and Mixed Blo0od Chippewa used in re. to the payments for the Mixed bloods in the treaty you mentioned: www.mainlymichigan.com/nativedata/1836OttChipCensus/1836OttChippPaging.aspxthere were three members of the Genereux family listed: #428 Mary Genereux, #429 Lucelle Genereux, and #430 Charles Genereux Mary was the mother of Lucelle,and Charles. the father was a trader whowas listed as dead.

"A List of the Mixed-Blood Chippewa of Lake Superior, 1839" - Where is the original of this document? I've seen the same transcription in several places online and need the location, title, etc., of the original. Can you help please? Many thanks, Kathie
