Hermin 1 i did a little research tonight on Margarite the one that married Joseph Frazier. the word Folleavoine? i found a Fort Folle Avoine in Danbury WI and it looks like a old fort and the Indians that was around that area in those days was, Dakota and Ojibwa. so we have narrowed her down to ether Nation.
was Margaret Jacks wife Sioux or Ojibwa? or both? is this the Margaret that comes home in triumph? if so i am interested in more research on her. we have little clues that keep me going on the research for Margaret Frazier comes home in triumph!

kermit: I went to the website. there were2 forts there, and they were near Danbury. the traders dealt with the chippewas. the forts were built to defend them from the Dakotas(sioux) whowere bitter enemies of the Chippewa or Ojibways.the fortsw Were in peration for on.y 3 years.

Hermin 1 when i went thru Margaret Frazier probate it said that Itewakan passed away 70 years ago and the probate was done 1913 and the testimonies was done 1911, if i am doing my math right? the date should be 1841 that Itewakan passed away?
that is 20 + years from when Jack Frazier had passed away? and Tamazahowate passed in 1854 or 1855? Jack was said to still be alive at this time?
so here is my question to you? how can Itemaza who was still alive be the father of all Margaret's children when it said that itewakan passed away in 1841? i am asking for some help to get me on the same page as you are on with Itamaza and Itewakan being one of the same? help thanks Hermin 1

kermit: Joe jack Frazier died in 1869 at Faribault Minn.kermit; the only thing I can think of to account for the discrepancies, would be that Joe jack and Marguerite must have separated, and by Indian custome ,to her, Joe jack was now dead, even though he was still alive. the Frazier treee done by BIA does not show any date of deathe for itewakan, neither does the tree done by the Dakota Assoc.

Hermin1 on Margaret's probate number 41536-11 Santee Eli Abraham and Joseph A Kitto being of the age of 63 and 60 gave testimony of being well acquainted with family history of Margaret Frazier.
i am sending you a you a photo of what was being said by these two men.
i do not know why they did did not use a date of death for Ite Wakan? my only guess is they over looked it but they did you all the dates of the children of Margaret's Heirs for dates.
Hermin1 thanks so much for all your input on my family! its what keeps me going to find all things is cam about my family.

kermit:I goofed about Joe Jack's date of death,it was in 1869. But as to your question re. the affidavit of Eli and Joseph, check your Email I sent you a reply. I did get the 2 pages you sent me.. One thing is certain, Eli and Joseph Kitto were not in Minnesota when Joe jack died, they were at Santee,NE, so they must have heard about his death.. Plus they were old men at the time they made the affidavit.

kermit: I have no idea who the Marguerite Winona on that baptismal record was. Remember their daughter lucy was born @1834. So the 1832 marriage date fits for marguerite and Joe jack to have been married in 1832.

Hermin1 well i could see why that they would be confusing for the two of them and it would be hard to tell them apart. the baptismal for Margarite Wanona shows that she was born 1814 and and Jacks Margiite Wanona is born 1810 where did you find a date of birth for her at?
