Start with your father and work backwards along his line and include Vital Data on him, then on his parents ,and then on the parents of his father's parents,etc.
Look for obituaries, and family bible information.do you know where your ancestors are buried?

Zachim bigbear is on 1910 Greenwood, Chas Mix US Census.
He was born 1860 in SD.
Dau: Emily age 20 yrs

I found a Nathan Ferris, son, Age 0, born 1940.
Mother is Irene( BigBear)Ferris age30 yrs.,b. SD
Dau. June Ferris age 10yr.
Son Donald fErris age 3 yr.
Louise BigBear-sister of Mother 27yrs. b. SD
(1940 US Census Wahehe ,Sharles Mix,SD)
Zachim could be a brother to Edward BigBear,or an Uncle or a Cousin.
I have had no luck binging(corection: finding) the BigBears in the Yankton Censuses up to 1900.

Hey Jr I found a Big Bear Emily that has land on the Yank ton REZ here is her number for the land West - 36 - 94W - Wahehe
Big Bear Eunice 2 - 95 - 64W - Highland

nathan: here is list of Guy power's siblings Milton, Jr. Win(?) Daniel Rosie Marie mary Hal William guy powers married Lydia(no surname given forher in the Census) As of 1940 they had Daniel, Keith, and Sandra Lee Powers. nathan and kermit: You used to be able to go to www.rootsweb and find Social Sec. Death Info. for a person,but last year, Ancestry decided to make you pay for the info. Your best bet would be to ask your relatives for the death info on Guy Powers,etc.. |

nathan; Milton F. Powers and nancy were wed @1907 or 1908, according to lDS Archives.
guy may have another sibling,because in the 1930 US Census,is listed a gr. dau. Geraldine cook, age3.
Milton F. Powers died sometime bet. 1935 and 1940,because the 1940 US Census for Wahehe ,Chas mix,SDlists nancy Powers widowed with daughters marie, mary and the gr, daughter Geraldine Cook,who is now listed as 13 yrs old.
could Gerlaldine be the dau of Milton ,Jr?

Hey Nathan i got some more information for you.
Mato maza and Tatankakinza are brothers to Zacheus Big Bear and they have a hafe sister as well. i will have to get the rest of the information for you on another day ok.

the best my colleaguecould do with Saul's name in english, was Reurn my Good Thunder.there are 3 registers ,kermit, for church of Holy name at Choteau Creek.Do you have access to them?

i have not been able to find anything on him ,other than that wedding record in Book one.
but I ain't through searching for him.
Santee Censuses do not have him in any of their rolls.
How did he wind up at Yankton Res., and not Santee>is something that is puzzling me.
kermit: have you tried looking at the Yankton censuses in the History section?

Hermin i understand the puzzle to Saul i have been searching for him and nothing but the church records. i will look on the Yankton roll may be his wife was from there?

that is what i am thinking,kermit.he may have married a yankton Woman.
i sure wish that the bia had taken better care of the 1864 Crow Creek Census.
that is where most of the internees of Ft.Snelling were sentto in 1863.
Now Saul would have been ten or 11 yrs old then.
iwill look at the listing of internees at Ft.Snelling. maybe he and or maggie ,his sister are there.

Hermin do you have anything on a Milton Powers Sr all i know is he had a wife name Nancy Hawk and they had children. one was name Guy Powers. he is Nathan Ferris Jr Grandfather?
Hermin we talked about a Strang Powers and a Euprosine Pellitier Dit Antoya. is Milton Powers related to them?
