there were two siouxs named Big Nose at the Battle of Little big horn, one was Cheyenne, the other was listed as Sioux. I am assuming that the latter one was your Big Nose.No information listed for him as to his role in the battle, nor if he was killed. since he is on the 1910 US Census for Greory county,SD, he was not killed. you failed to list the real purpose for your inquiry. As you were not a descendant of anyof the people youseek info on,we cannot help you.

Thank you for responding. The purpose for my inquiry was contained in the PDF attached to my initial inquiry. In it I stated what I am doing and why am researching Big Nose and Yellow Breast. I thought it was too lengthy to post in its entirety on the forum.
I am not a relative of Big Nose or Yellow Breast. I have been researching my husband's family who knew them for the past several years. Howard and Claribel Ekleberry established "squatter's rights" in 1892 on a piece of land 4 miles northwest of Bonesteel in Gregory County, just bordering the Rosebud. It was here that they met Big Nose and Yellow Breast. I am writing and illustrating a story about this time in our family's history because it is such a transitional time in the history of the Sioux and of the people who were settling in their land.
I did not understand that I must be related to the person I am researching in order to post on this website. I will move on.

writespretty: I apologize for not being more explicit or clearer in my previous posting. You are more than welcome to post on the website. I was unable to find any more info on Big Nose and Yellow Breast than you were able to find in your posting on another web site, requesting info on these people. have you tried the Oyate Research Center Website? i tried the Tiyospaye website but there was no information on either Big Nose or yellow breast.
