1860 Lower Sioux Agency Annuity Roll

This is the 1860 Annuity Roll for the Mdewakanton and Wahpekute at the Lower Sioux Agency, conducted by Joseph R. Brown. The names are grouped by bands and include Chiefs Sakapee, Huscasca, White Dog, Wabasca, Wakute, Tate ibamdu, Makato, Little Crow, Wamdi tanka, Wasuhiyayedan and Maka cega. This is a good roll to use in conjunction with the 1857 Upper Agency Roll which Jimmy has posted elsewhere on this site. (Some of the spelling on this roll is a tad odd.)

Vicky, Do you know about these list of Mdewakantons, Under wakute's band my gr.gr.grandmother is on that list if you look you will see Owaci on the bottom. I am looking for her and what her english name was changed to. I know it is Dancer or something like that. Help please!!sharonz09
