nancy laBlanc's maiden name was Greeley. her parents were Moses Greeley and Nancy Isbu. Mose's parents were Sana and Itewyaka(One-Armed Jim). One Armed Jim was a scout for the Army during/after the 1862 Uprising. there was also a scout named isbu, but I haven't been able to find anything on him. nancy la blanc was married to a" wanna before she married mr. laBlanc. all I have on Muzanakawin is that she was the wife og LouisCarbonneau Provencalle aka LaBlanc, and she was a cousin o fchief Grey iron. Hope this helps.

OHHH! i think your thinking about Nancy Isbu that married Peter La Blanc, The Nancy i am talkin about was Married to Joseph La Blanc Sr and they had a son "Peter La Blanc" and HE Married Nancy Isbu, thus changing her last name to La Blanc. But that still Leaves Me clueless on who Peter's Mother Nancy La Blanc" was.. All I know is that she was a Full Blood Wahpekute. Its definately not the First Time Nancy Isbu/La Blanc Was confused With Her Mother in-law! -Brad

i found a Joseph LaBlanc born @1825, Age 68 wife nancy lablanc Age 65 Gr. child Ruby la Blanc Age 2 census date; 30 Jun 1890 Sisseton Wahpeton tribe, lake traverse Reservation, roerts SDak. On the same Census is listed: Peter LaBlanc age 28 yrs. Mary laBlanc wife age 19 yrs. ______ I found Peter laBlanc with wife Nancy G. on the 30 Jun 1897 sisseton Wahpeton tribal census Lake Traverse Res.,roberts,SDak. Nancy G. was born @1871. here is what else i found on ancestry.com after an extensive search: ____________ Joseph LaBlanc Age 23, b.@1890 listed with wife mary age. 19 on the 30 jun 1911 sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Census, lake traverse Res., roberts,SD. __________________ i found Peter laBlanc age 35, wife Nancy G. age 26, children: Joseph age 7, nora g. age 6, Emily g., age 3, and Cora age 5/12 yr. Nora and Emily are listed as step-daughters. this is the 13 Sep. 1897 sisseton Waheton Tribal Census ,Lake Traverse, roberts,SD. ______________________________ i found also a Joseph laBlanc Jr. age 35, wife Nancy age 35 on the 30 Jun,1922 sissetonWahpeton tribal Census, lake Traverse, roberts, SD. _________________________________ I found Joseph la blanc age 43, wife susan39, step-son alfred burke age 6.Census is 1930 Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Census lake Traverse, roberts, Sd.
there are so many nancys here. the laBlancs must have liked women with that first name. ______________ add this to the information I found at the Brown Erth settlement Records, and it lwould appear that Joseph Sr. and Joseph jr. had more than one wife at the sme time, the wives not living in the same place. it would have helped me if you would have given me @when Joseph s/o Louis laBlanc and this nancy were married, nd the names of their children. lacking this information, Yhave fun figuring out the informatin i just posted from Ancestry.com

Well i definately know how to eliminate one Joseph La Blanc.. His Brother Peter had a son and named him Joseph and that had to been about circa 1890.. so any joseph born around that time would have to be Peters son then right? AND yes it does seem to appear something was going on with them having more then one wife.. If this Helps.. The Josephs in my family would be from the Red Iron/ Gray Lake/ Sarah Lake area wich is all in the same place (MArshal County SD) .. and they occasionally ventured to the Enemy Swim area)

Hi The Nancy that i'm interested in and need to find is Nancy La Blanc, b. 1825 married to Joseph Lablanc Sr. b. circa 1819-1825, I am sure he was Born 1819.. thats what minnesota records say, he appears with children on 1838 mix-blood census The mother.. Nancy does not appear because she is full blood Wahpkute. He appears again on the Lake Pepin Settlement Census, on both of these censuses his last name is Provincial or Provencal.. he dropped that name completely after the war.. then he appeared in Sisseton Wahpeton Land allotments under the name Joesph La Blanc Sr. 1875 and Nancy appeared under Nancy La Blanc.. Is there any minnesota censuses of full bloods? or are they all mixed-blood censuses?!?!?!? hmm She was excluded from the censuses because she was Full-blood?... It would help if i had there probates but the BIA here in Sisseton doesn't give them to the relatives or even let them look at them... makes you wonder what there hiding.. I've had it up to here with them.. anyway.. get back to me on this.. plz
