I am begining a quest of understanding the movements of this church after the uprising. I purchased a book entitled A HISTORY OF THE EARLY EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF STJOHNS MISSION. by June Lehman for the Renville County Historical Society
In it she states that there were two churches at the Lower Agency Samuel D Hinman who came to the agency under the direction of Bishop Henry C Whipple was minister of Episcopal congregation was established in 1853 and Rev John Williamson, was a presbyterian minister. both came in 1860
Williamsons was a small white frame church completed in 1862 and have twelve members in it. It stood beside the first gully east of the warehouse.
just across the gully east of the presbyterian church was the church of Rev Hinman. He came to the agency under the direction of Bishop Whipple. Before the conflict Rev Williamson and Rev Shinman had a preaching circuit tha took him thourgh the valley of Beaver Creek. ... he met in the homes of his member sn doften held services on the lawn. They would take turns and prach every other week. the Episcopalians often met at the home of Mrs Andrew Robertson. ... Elder Hall, a presbyterian clergyman was the first to locate in Beaver Falls. He also seved parishoners in Redwood Falls, In 1866 after Beaver Falls was reinhabited he preached regualry every two weeks.
During the conflict the Presbyterian Church of Rev Williamson was completly destroyed and the church of Hinman was partially demolished. the episcopal church was later rebuilt in 1889 in Lower Agency.
