Hello Hermin1: I am so thrilled to see this document. This is exactly the information I am seeking. Is it possible to learn the source of this document? I am curious because my father Thomas LaVerne Lightfoot/Marvin LaVerne Johnson is named as Anastasia/Stacia Lightfoot's son, but other family members of hers claim no knowledge of his existence. - Leannmarie

It is the result of painstaking research on the net,and information I have received from oother descendents of the Bluestones, that I have helped them with their search for ancestors. the information on Thomas Lighfoot aka Marvin LaVerne Johnson, was sent to me by a descendent of the Bluestones, who asked me to help her with confirming the accuracy of the Bluestone Tree she had produced after her own research. here is her email if you would like to write to her. I am not sure but she may be a descendent of his like you are:Rachel Johnson. Her email is eserenetie@yahoo.com the word illegitimate leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I feel that in God's eyes he is legitimate and that he intended for Thomas to be born. I am sorry , but I don't have any information on his branch of the family, just what Rachel sent me.

Hi Hermin1: Thank you for your response. I agree with you that illegitimate is not an appropriate or respectful term. I only use the term at all because that is the word that is neatly handwritten on my father's original birth certificate, across the space, diagonally, where his father's name and other information would normally be. I was also thinking that some members of the family would not be willing to recognize this birth for family tree purposes. It is no surprise that births like my father's, to an unwed teenage mom, have been kept hidden and come as a shock to half-siblings born later. I am grateful for your help because every bit of information I can learn is a comfort to me and a tribute to my dad who was a remarkable person and a credit to his birth-as-well-as-adopted family. - Leannmarie

leanmarie: The world is a better place because of people like your dad.And I would venture to guess that his birth mother never forgot about him,in her heart.
