Agreed, a great link! Never been there before this morning. It's mostly Ho-chunga-rah or Winnebago tribe [Now Ho-Chunk] tradition but very interesting. Take time to click on the links for further reading. I had to click on "The Serpents of Trempealeau," because I was born there. The link brings to mind a book I have in my collection, " Where the Waters Gather and the Rivers Meet - An Atlas of the Eastern Sioux" by Paul Durand. The book includes a 17" x 26" folded map of the Upper Mississippi River Valley and beyond in a sleeve on the inside back cover. The map identifies all the lakes, ponds, rivers and streams by their phonetic native names, using Dakota or Ojibwe language according to where the water is located. The book is a glossary of all the names. It was Durnad's intention to identify and preserve all the ancient names in this so-called "New World." The map corners include: Northwest: "Pa-Ha To-pa" (Four Hills located north of the Coteau des Prairies) (Dakota place name) Southwest: "Mni So-se Wa-kpa" (Part way up the present day Missouri River) (Dakota place name) Northeast: "Wassiwagani Sagaiigun" (Torch Lake, near Le Lac du Flambeau, Rusk County, Wisconsin) (Ojibwe place name) Southeast: "Mashkode Sagig" (Prairie of the Sac, lower Wisconsin River) (Ojibwe place name) If anyone needs a look-up of a specific place, let me know.

That link is no longer available. I'm updating the entire Wapasha Dynasty website while the weather remains too cold for outside activity. I welcome any comment or suggestion that will make the site a better site. Please check in as it evolves into a better genealogical work. Right now I'm concentrating on finding the best available documentation for the children of Wapasha I. Once I've added all the documentation I can locate, I will proceed to Wapasha II's children. freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wapasha/

LeFeuille"s(Wapasha II) second wife was sister of chief Winneshiek/Coming thunder, Mara( correction: should be Maza),Harriet. His daughter who married L'Arc(Tinazipe) was Hazawastewin. their Children were Ptesanwin-wife of Itazipi, David Wakanhdiota,Heyeduta, and Ixskadmani or Isanamani.(Ref:Hereship Report Ptesanwin). Hazawastewin was also once wed to Kabuki(he died in 1842). The daughter who married Last Man was Ohiyewin..Their daughter Yuhenwin married james PayPay(PePe). Last Man and Bounding Wind are not the same man. here is a link that has information for you also: www.mackreunion.com/genealogy/gp150.htm
