toknuwan: the 1875 pages I got from ancestry( Iposted what you said you saw above) do not show John Bluestone under any one else.it does on the other page list other bluestones, ie Minnie, etc. I wish you would post the page from that census you are talking about.

vicky: thomas and anna whipple did have Lena who married Joe Campbell. Lena was the oldest child. Thomas was a minister, and they were sent to minnesota, Wisconsin, possibly elsewhere.Several of their kids were born in MN(rose for one), several in wisconsin, and one born Nebraska(Lena ). Anna was the half sibling of Maggie Hoffman-Mazakute-Whipple. Anna was the offspring of John Acaksin and Mary Nagiskanskansanwin(she had been married to Nagiwicakte(he was allegedly was killed during or after the uprising). You'll find Anna's baptismal record in the Santee Agcy Register 1842-1904.maggie was Nagiwicakte's daughter by Mary. there are 2 lena whipples, then: daughter of Thomas and Anna Whipple who maaried Joe Campbell Lena Mary, dau. of Samuel Whipple and Mary Wakanna Henry. These are my relatives. Helena Whipple’s dad was Thomas “Wakaŋna” Whipple his dad was Thomas “Hušaša” Whipple. Both were born before the Treaty of Mendota in the Mississippi River area in Minnesota. After exile they went to Santee from Crow Creek. Thomas “Wakaŋna” came back to the Prairie Island area with his wife Anna Whipple (Hoffman) and had Lena (Helena) Whipple in Maiden Rock Wisconsin in 1887 or 88’ or there about. “Grandma Rose” was sister to Grandma Lena, she married over a few times ending with the last name Blauer her previous names were Crow, Lucas and Lawrence. Then there was a Rose that Grandma Lena called niece, she married a bluestone. So.. Rose Whipple (Crow, Lucas, Lawrence, Blauer), and Rose Bluestone are the 2 Grandma Roses that confuse people. Grandma Lena married Joe Campbell and they had 13 children. Joe Campbell’s dad was Antoine Scott Campbell his uncles were John, Scott, Hypolite, Baptiste (one of the 38). His mom was Emma Otherday her dad was Jacob Otherday and her uncle John Otherday. This is how my grandma Ramona Jones (Childs) told me.
