Great finds kermit. i will update my records on nancy and henry, and James Brant. the 35 means the estate was probated in 1935. kermit; does it list james's other wife/ does it list thechildren he had with both Wives? if he died after nancy, and before his second wife, then nancy would not have gotten anything from his estate, but her children with him would.

Re. knox County handling of probates: person,ie nancy files petition with the court to have a hearing todetermine heirs to hapanna's estate. notice is posted in the area nespapers as to when the hearing will be held and where. the persons who testify have fill out a questionaire re. the deceased person's family history. then they have to testify at the hearing. the judge determines whether or ot an executor should be hired, who the heirs are, and what fees are to be charged for court costs.if he hires an executor, then a final hearing is held after all financial matters are settled. Once the court hands odown its judgement, a copy is sent to all parties concerned, and one is sent to the BIA.

You should talk with an attorney , if you plan to hold a hearing into paul Mazakute;s estate. one of my colleagues also had inherited land at Bazile Creek, which was under water. He and his sibling heirswere paid cash by BIA for the land.
