Thank you both, hermin1 and Vicky,
The child listed in the last image, Rose (girl) age 12 years, is my Great Great Grandmother.
How wonderful to finally see this on paper.
The band her mother was from? In the affidavit he says the indian woman of the Med uoh kanton band. Not to be silly but what band was this?
Also, I now have 3 names for her mother
Zoe Winona, Ouanino, and/or Cankuomaniwin
How would I be able to narrow it down?
Thank you both so much. You do not know what this means. My heart is overflowing.

debiggit:Poor Louis was not very literate. He meant to say Mdewakanton band of sioux indians. type it into google and you should find out information aboutt his proud band of Native americans. Some of the sioux went by more than one name. So you should keep this in mind. I know of one dakota sioux that went by 4 different names, and had four different wives in three different places. hahahaI had a heck of time trakcing him down. hahaha __ Personally,I would use the name she had when your ancestor was baptized.
