probate No. is100143 the date of the report was June 27,1913. i was not allowed to make any copies of the probate, just to look at it and make my notes. Emma apparently didn't have an Allotment No.

kermit: do you have a printer? Do you even have a computer? The only probates on this website are those that Mike upl;oaded and posted.IF YOU HAD A COMPUTER AND A PRINTER YOU COULD HAVE DOWNLOADED THEMAND PRINTED THEM OUT.

contact peacekeeper at JackieMHahn@aol.com and ask if she has what you need. it will cost you though for copies. she has taken all the records from the old native Family Indian Center here in Sioux City, an d they are at the nebraska Indian Community College in South Sioux City,or Dakota City,NE. i have tried posting requests for copies of Probates and no one has ever responded.

Hermin i was doing some more searching on this Noah Blue Cloud he was the second husband to Johanna Blue Cloud. i was wondering like back in the day the male took the female last name. do you thing Noah to Johanna last name Blue Cloud?
the reason i ask is because i came across a Noah he had land on the Yankton REZ here is his land record number 18 - 95N - 64W - Highland. i also was wondering because it had or i assume it was his Indian name Onsiyayanka?
what do you think?

No, Blue Cloud would be Mahpiyato. mahpiya is Cloud, To is Blue. You translate the Indian name rom right to left. kermit: Johanna and her children took Noah's surname, not the other way around. some of the Sioux took their non-Indian Wife's surname, Like Jacob Eastman.

Hermin the Iapi Oaye Sept 1883
July 11, 1883 John Blue Cloud Hepan qa Norah Tamazawaste win
what do you think? Noah ?
Also on the same page a Lydia Cekpawin Married Louis St Pierre Oct 5, 1879. Lydia is the daughter of Noah and Johanna Blue Cloud and she was a twin but the other twin we do not know. My mother is thinking it is Justina Blue Cloud because they both went to school at the ohiya school at the same time.
What do you think Hermin? i am needing some help to unsolve this mystery?

kermit; The John Blue Cloud is the one who lived at Sisseton. Lydia blue cloud's twin may have died at birth, because her twin would have been mentioned in Lydia's heirship Report, and jennie Blue cloud's heirship report. You need to have Justina's birth/baptismal Record to prove she was Lydia's twin. Log in to www.familysearch.org type in Noah Blue Cloud, select Any for event, type South Dakota in the place box, and 1885 to 1940 for time period. You may find info on Noah.
